• It is the only one of Ming's three choices whose linked ability is an active — the other two link passives.
• It carries the Stun, Burn tags, which the other two choices lack.
• Its linked ability exposes the most recovered balancing values (5) of the three.

No balance changes in 0.5.3 – 0.5.8 for The Searing. The specialization sheet record is identical across the extracted 0.5.2 (build 24436268), 0.5.4 (build 24690909) and 0.5.8 (build 25188298) snapshots, and so is the linked ability's record. Ming's own kit was touched (The Searing (active specialization, Searing Mantra); Inner Flame (signature passive); The Enlightened (bug fix)), but none of those entries concern this specialization.
